Persian-European Dining Experience | Rotterdam

Lozee held a New Year’s Eve gathering on the 31st of December, in collaboration with Sourmeh the Gourmet, bringing together 25 guests from Belgium, Finland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Iran, France, and England.

The evening unfolded within the architectural elegance of Het Finse Huis in Rotterdam, a setting that beautifully framed a celebration of cuisine, design, and cultural exchange at the intersection of Persian heritage and contemporary European sensibilities.

The table design centered around the concept of connection. Pears were thoughtfully arranged across the table and delicately tied together with ribbons. Each pear symbolized an individual, while the ribbons represented shared experiences and gatherings that weave people together, transforming separate lives into a connected community through meaningful moments.

Guests were welcomed from 19:00 to 20:00 with an opening bite of artisanal bread, cultured butter, and spinach borani. The evening continued with a three-course set menu, crafted with care and precision by Sourmeh, who flew in from Tehran for the occasion.

The menu featured Mirza Schnitzel, an eggplant interpretation of the classic dish, followed by saffron tahchin. For dessert, Persian flavors met Dutch tradition in a pistachio oliebol, thoughtfully finished with mascarpone cream.

Handmade works by selected Iranian artists, including Laleh’s creations, Alireza Faraji’s sculptural pieces, and DAA’s wooden trays, were presented throughout the space, highlighting the richness of Iranian craftsmanship.

The evening concluded with a carefully curated playlist, dancing, conversation, and shared moments welcoming the New Year in warmth and connection.
